James Arriola wore many hats in his life and those included Scout Leader, Arrowman, Mentor, Friend, and Dad. We were all saddened by his sudden passing on January 2nd and will miss his presence in our world.

James became an Eagle Scout in 1985 and served as the 1987-88 Nebagamon Lodge Chief, OA Section W4C Vice Chief in 1988-89, and Chief in 1990-91. He continued his distinguished service as an adult serving as Nebagamon Lodge Adviser, Section Associate Adviser, Section Adviser, and as a member of regional committees and national OA sub committees.

For the last 7 years he has served as the Scoutmaster of Troop 219, leading a unit with a strong program and outdoor experiences. Additionally, James was also the Crew Advisor for the past 5 years for Crew 219.

If you knew James, you knew he was one of the nicest people you had ever met, a guy who would always say yes, and someone you could count on to make a difference. Now it's our turn to give back for all he gave to us.

To honor his legacy we have created the James Arriola High Adventure Scholarship Fund that will provide financial assistance to help youth members experience Philmont or another high adventure base with the hope that they will love hiking as much as James did.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to honor James legacy and we hope you will join us.
