Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator – Part Time:  

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Part-Time Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator to lead the council’s marketing and public relations efforts. This role is responsible for increasing awareness of our programs, driving youth participation, and promoting the impact of Scouting in the Las Vegas community. The position is ideal for a motivated individual, including recent graduates, passionate about marketing, community outreach, and youth development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Marketing and PR Activities: Oversee all marketing, public relations, and promotional initiatives to enhance the council’s visibility and reputation.
  • Increase Public Awareness: Develop and implement strategies to promote Scouting programs, services, and community impact to diverse audiences.
  • Advertising and Promotions: Create and manage advertising campaigns, social media content, and promotional materials to engage prospective Scouts, families, and community partners.
  • Marketing Research: Conduct research to identify market trends, community needs, and opportunities for program expansion.
  • Market Penetration and Expansion: Develop initiatives to grow youth participation in Scouting programs, targeting new demographics and underserved areas.

  Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field (recent graduates welcome to apply).
  • Experience: Entry-level position; prior experience in marketing, public relations, or community outreach is a plus but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
    • Ability to create engaging content and promotional materials.
    • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

Community Growth Executive – Full Time

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Full-Time Community Growth Executive to lead efforts in expanding participation in our traditional Scouting programs and building partnerships across the Las Vegas area. This role is perfect for someone passionate about community engagement, relationship-building, and making a difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow Program Participation: Develop and implement strategies to increase youth and adult involvement in our programs.
  • Establish New Program Groups: Identify and connect with potential community partners (e.g., schools, churches, civic organizations) to launch new program groups, working closely with staff and volunteers.
  • Build Community Relationships: Create and maintain strong partnerships with local schools, community leaders, businesses, and other organizations to promote our programs.
  • Recruit Volunteers: Collaborate with team members to recruit and onboard volunteers to support new program groups and ensure their success.
  • Plan Programs and Budgets: Work with unit leadership to develop annual plans and budgets that drive engagement and sustainability.
  • Support Fundraising Efforts: Assist program groups with fundraising activities, such as product sales and community campaigns, to support program goals.
  • Enhance Volunteer Training: Partner with the training team to deliver effective training for volunteers, improving their skills and commitment.
  • Ensure Program Quality: Collaborate with the program team to maintain high-quality, engaging activities that attract and retain participants.
  • Travel: Provide weekly on-site support to program groups and partners across the Las Vegas area.
  • Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2–4 years in sales, marketing, relationship management, financial management, or community outreach.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication to promote programs and engage diverse audiences.
    • Ability to build trusting relationships with community partners, volunteers, and staff.
    • Problem-solving skills to address challenges in program growth and volunteer engagement.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to read, communicate, and use computers effectively.
    • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
    • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions, with occasional bending, stooping, and walking.

Work Environment

The Community Growth Manager will work in an office setting and travel throughout the Las Vegas area to meet with program groups, partners, and community stakeholders. The role involves moderate noise levels, controlled temperatures, and occasional outdoor work. Interaction with staff, volunteers, and community representatives will be required.

Office Administrator:

Job Overview

Assists the Field Services Team in the execution of administrative duties and responsibilities. Performs varied administrative and clerical duties. Requires initiative, organization of duties, integrity, and a respect for all information of a confidential nature.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative and clerical support to the Field Services Team as directed.
  2. Handles routine mail, telephone.
  3. Maintains accurate calendar of meetings, activities, and due dates to members of the Field Services Team as directed.
  4. Schedule appointments, introduce callers, take messages, etc.
  5. Provide support for special events.
  6. Assist with check-in of attendees at special events.
  7. Maintain neat and accurate files and reports, keeping work area neat and clutter free.
  8. Maintain computer network, desktop computer, laptops, and related software in good working order.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

.QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED including or supplemented by secretarial courses/experience.
  2. Ability to spell correctly and use proper grammar.
  3. Expertise with Microsoft Office; specifically, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Publisher. Also have knowledge of Adobe Express or Creative Cloud.
  4. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  5. Ability to get along with others and willingness to work with others and be a “team player”.
  6. Social media marketing skills a plus.
  7. Event Planning and Project Management a plus.

Job Type: Full-Time. Hours: Monday – Friday 8:15am – 5:15pm. Some flexibility required.

Salary: 36,000-$40,000 depending on experience.
