DATE – TBD
Scouting Resource Center – Engelstad Scout Park
The Las Vegas Area Council is hosting this conservation-themed event for Scouts of all ages to learn about conservation, to fulfill Adventure and Merit Badge requirements, and to participate in conservation service hours for rank advancement. More than that, the Las Vegas Area Council is committed to the principles of conservation and outdoor ethics that are central themes in Scouting, and we want to provide conservation education to area youth.
Conservation and Scouting America have been partners for a long time. The Scouting program includes the Outdoor Code, Outdoor Ethics, Leave No Trace, and conservation service projects. Many of the requirements for advancement from Cub Scouts to Tenderfoot through Eagle Scout rank call for an awareness and understanding of conservation, ecology, the environment, sustainability, and other aspects of the natural world.
